Announcing the Geo4Lib Community Sprint Summer 2026

From August 17-21, 2026 we will be holding a week-long community sprint. This is a chance to come together to work on shared projects, contribute to community documentation, or fix software bugs. It can also be a week to set aside time to work on a new or side project, while having a group on hand to discuss and answer questions.

A mid-March 2026 update

Over the past year, the Geo4Lib community has continued to grow and take shape through regular meetings, collaborative discussions, and community sprints. I wanted to share a brief update on some of the topics and projects our community has been discussing over the past several months, along with a reminder about our biggest upcoming event.

Recap of the Geo4Lib Community Sprint, Summer 2025

The Geo4Lib community came together on July 21, 2025, for a week-long virtual sprint focused on application development, metadata, documentation, and community governance across multiple open-source projects. We held daily standups and structured the sprint as a choose-your-own-adventure style event, allowing contributors to dive into areas aligned with their interests.
